Access Power, the Emirati energy solutions provider has launched in cooperation with the FMO (Deutsch Bank of Development) a new contest for the innovations related to solar energy breakthroughs named the Access Power-FMO Solar Shark Competition.
The contest is open to innovators and developers from Africa, Asia and Latin America who need help in order to make their project more economically sustainable.
Contestants whose solar plants projects power scope range between 5 MW and 50 MW and whose feasibility studies have already been conducted will be eligible for this contest. A first screening will serve to select the best four contestants who will showcase their projects in front of a judging committee, on the 18th February 2016, at “Making Solar Bankable” conference in Amsterdam.
The winner will receive a subvention of $100 000, and will be automatically prequalified for the final round of the second edition of the Access Co-Development Facility. This contest also organized by Access will give him the opportunity to earn a $5 million funding along with technical support for his project.
AFC’s second edition is scheduled for the 18th February. The winner will be revealed in June 2016. 55 projects from 18 countries participated in the first edition won by Quaint Solar Energy and Flatbush Solar.
