The construction works of the l’Institut de Formation aux Métiers des Energies Renouvelables et de l’Efficatité Energétique (IFMEREE - Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency Training Institute) have been launched. The cornerstone ceremony took place in the presence of King Mohammed VI and President François Hollande, as well as Crown Prince Moulay El Hassam and Prince Moulay Rachid.
Located in Tangiers, the institute will offer training courses in maintenance and operation of wind farms being installed, and maintenance of solar power equipment, operation of biogas deposits, development of biogas and energy efficiency.
With a total cost of 95 million dirhams (close to USD 10 million), the training centre will be completed within 18 months by the ministry of National Education and Vocational Training.
The establishment of this institute comes in the framework of the implementation of an agreement between the King, the State and experts of the renewable energies sector with the objective of establishing and managing 3 training institutes dedicated to the renewable energies and energy efficiency sector.
The Oujda institute has already been built and equipped. After the Tangiers institute, the next to come will be the one of Ouarzazate.
