Morocco: Enel Green sets up in Casablanca

The Italian group Enel Green Power has just open its offices in Casablanca, Morocco. This information was reported by the media L’Economiste. This establishment will enable the specialist in renewable energies to monitor its activities in the kingdom and solidify its position on this market.

Morocco is one of the strategic locations in the development programme of the company for the period covering 2015 to 2020. Enel has even partnered on this market with Nareva, Taqa, and Siemens for the implementation of a wind power programme of 850 MW. Developed by the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water, the tendering process of this programme of a total cost of € 1 billion will be finalised in the coming weeks. The national Moroccan programme in terms of wind power makes provision for the installation of 2,000 MW of infrastructure by 2020.

With 9,900 MW of installed capacity and 740 units in operation spread over 15 countries, Enel is one of the world leaders in renewable energies.
