Côte d’Ivoire plans to raise by one third its power supply to Mali, Thierry Tanoh (photo), Ivorian minister of oil, energy and renewable energy development, announced during a meeting with the Malian Prime Minister, Soumeylou Boubèye Maïga.
“We increased to a minimum of 33%, compared to what we provided before. We also discussed the collaboration that could exists between Côte d’Ivoire and Mali in terms of exchange of experiences. We will see how we could enhance our cooperation to efficiently develop energy production, would it be traditional or renewable,” said the Ivorian minister, during his visit.
Currently, the country supplies 45 MW to Mali. This capacity will soon be increased to 60 MW with possibility to extend it to 80 MW.
