The Lagos State government (Nigeria) concluded an agreement with the British company Low Energy Designs for the installation of 10, 000 streetlights over 300 km.

The project estimated at $6.9 million also includes the establishment of an intelligent control system for facilities’ telecontrol as well as a hybrid energy storage system. The company will use LED lights from Phoenix ULTRA, SunBURST and Norrsken brands.

In addition, Low Energy Designs will also modernize existing streetlights in lkoyi, lkeja and Victoria Island, using one third of the lights to be installed.

“We have been supplying our intelligent LED streetlights in Nigeria for over 10 years.

Every time I visit, I get to see our original lighting installations still working,” the company’s CEO Alan Parker said.
