(Ecofin Agency) - In Burkina, the national trader’s union (SYNACOM-B) plans to develop two solar plants estimated at 150 MW. One in Nobéré (100MW) and another of 50MW in a soon-to-be-known place. To this end, the association acquired a legal entity and joined an international consortium to carry out this project.
Speaking during the signing of the agreement with the consortium, Rock Nagalo, the union's general secretary said: “It’s a duty for every citizen to demand, but it is also a duty to propose development solutions for the country. […]. This initiative is being conducted by a consortium made of nationals from Russia, Turkey, France, Ivory Coast and Togo,” RTB reported.
Currently, Burkina Faso has an installed capacity of 350 MW, which is set to double by 2020.
