(Ecofin Agency) - Sonangol, national oil company of Angola, and the French oil group Total entered, on 3rd July into an agreement to strengthen their partnership in various fields, including in the joint production and exploration of oil in Angola and abroad, reports Angola Press.
The chairman of the Sonangol Board, Francisco de Lemos, and the CEO for Total, Patrick Pouyanné (pictured), signed the agreement, during the Angola-France Economic Forum, in the presence of the French head of state, François Hollande, who was on a short official visit to Luanda, Angola.
The agreement makes provision for actions in the fields such as technical assistance and personnel training, research, exploration and production of crude oil.
Patrick Pouyanné a réitéré, à cette occasion, l’intérêt de Total de créer à l'avenir une usine de production de gaz liquéfié et de distribuer des lampes solaires en Angola, principalement dans les zones rurales, apprend-on.
Patrick Pouyanné reiterated, on that occasion, the desire of Total to build up in the future a liquid gas production plant and to give away solar lamps in Angola, particularly in rural areas.
