Saturday, 18 July 2015 23:40

The ONEE (National Office for Electricity and Water) invites pre-qualification submissions for the realisation, operation and maintenance of three photovoltaic plants of 25 MW each. These plants will be located in the region of Tafilalet.

Many international institutions such as the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the World Bank will put up the financing for US$ 150 million.

The goal of the project “is to ensure energy security in the country and the improvement of quality of service for the regions located in remote areas as well as the promotion of renewable energies and the protection of the environment”, according to preparatory documents from IBRD quoted by L’Usine Nouvelle.

Candidates have up to 4th September to submit their application.

This project, Noor Tafilalet, is part of a three-phase program. The second phase will be Noor Atlas which will include 8 plants for total power output of 200 MW and the third will be on 2 to 4 plants for a minimal total power output of 100 MW.
