Tullow on Tuesday said it presented a draft field development plan to the government of Kenya in December 2015, in order to set up talks concerning potential investment for upstream development projects in Kenya and Uganda in 2017.
According to the company, development plans are progressing in Kenya following the successful conclusion of exploration drilling in 2015 which included the successful tests of Amosing and Ngamia wells.
In December 2015, Tullow reported that it successful encountered 102 metres of net oil pay in high quality reservoir sands in an untested fault block pointed out on a recent 3D seismic survey.
“The successful Etom-2 result and additional prospectivity indicated on the new 3D seismic data around the greater Etom area and northern part of the South Lokichar Basin, highlights there is significant remaining exploration potential. Plans for further exploration drilling will be evaluated during the first half of 2016,” the company told the STAR Kenya.
