Sound Energy on Friday announced that the second well, TE-7, at its Tendrara licence, onshore Morocco, has reached a total measured depth of 3,459 metres.
The company says it has successfully completed a 700 metre sub horizontal drill through the TAGI reservoir. It has also witnessed significant gas shows from the TAGI sandstones.
Sound Energy estimates a total vertical net gas pay of about 28 metres almost similar with the TE-6 well.
The well is to now be completed with a 4-1/2" production tubing, afterwards the Company will proceed with well-intervention operation which includes Coiled tubing, slickline and snubbing activities to be followed by an extended well test for about 70 days to confirm production sustainability and also to assist in comprehensive field development planning. Sound also plans to drill its first outpost well at Tendrara, the TE-8, with the aim of identifying significant additional volumes in the TAGI reservoir and at the same time as also drilling, for the first time, the potentially transformational Paleozoic formation.
Despite the fact that the exact location is still being evaluated and subject to regulatory and partner approvals, the drilling of TE-8 is expected to begin by early 2017, Energy-pedia reports.
