In Namibia, Chariot Oil & Gas on Monday, announced that it has commenced a 3D seismic survey of about 2,600 km² on Blocks 2312 & 2412A.

The 3D acquisition survey is being performed by PGS Exploration Limited. PGS is to accomplish the necessary work obligations for the blocks.

According to the Company, extra leads were identified within the Upper Cretaceous deep water clastic turbidite system, following the study of about 1,700 line km of 2D seismic data survey obtained on the North-west side of the licence in 2015.

This 3D survey, is to allow Chariot and its partners to develop the identified leads and advance its inventory in the region, which is believed to hold giant prospectivity. The survey, is however estimated to last for about 40 days.

Partners alongside Chariot on the Central Blocks are AziNam, NAMCOR and Ignitus with 20%, 10%, and 5% interests respectively, Offshore Energy Today reports.
