Ghana : OCV Viking Neptun set to Work on Tullow’s TEN

(Ecofin Agency) - Eidesvik Offshore ASA, through the Ghanaian entity Eidesvik Ghana Limited operated by Ghanaian partners in cooperation with Eidesvik, and Technip, have entered into an agreement for the charter of the Offshore Construction Vessel MV Viking Neptun for work to be performed on the TEN URF Development Project offshore Ghana.

The  period of the contract is 50 days plus mobilization period with an option for charterers to further extend the scope of work with 50 days. The work is expected to commence in Q4 of 2015. According to Eidsvik

MV Viking Neptun an Offshore Construction Vessel, was built in Norway and delivered to Eidesvik in February 2015. The vessel is 145 meters long and 31 meters wide and equipped with a 400 tons crane, with accommodation of up to 150 persons.

The Vessel has been operating for Technip since she was delivered from the yard and we are very pleased to continue the good relation and cooperation between the Technip and Eidesvik teams onboard the vessel and onshore”, says Jan Fredrik Meling, CEO of Eidesvik Offshore ASA told Subsea world news.

The end-user is Tullow Ghana Limited who is the operator and part-owner of the TEN field in Ghana.Nevertheless, Reach Subsea is to perform the ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) services under this agreement, as part of the 3-year contract entered into with Eidesvik Offshore in October 2014.In November 2014, Reach and Eidesvik were together hired by Technip for the supply of Viking Neptun.
