Sound Energy on Wednesday announced that the second Tendrara well, TE-7, onshore Morocco, has now been drilled to the first casing point at a measured vertical depth of 462 metres.
According to the company, the 13 3/8" casing has been successfully set and cemented in the Aalenian dolomite formation. This new development is coming almost a week after the European and African focused upstream company announced the commencement of a three-phase drill programme of the second well at Tendrara.Sound Energy will now forge ahead to drill towards the second casing point at a measured vertical depth of approx. 2,150 metres, Energy-pedia reports.
The aim of the TE-7 well includes confirming adequate gas volumes and well deliverability so as to facilitate the conclusion of the field development plan and to prove the benefits of sub-horizontal drilling, which is expected to be implemented as the production well concept for Tendrara.
Drilling is scheduled to reach a total measured depth of 11,286 feet, as specific tools are being used to geo-steer the well at close to an 88 degree angle inside the TAGI reservoir to ensure a horizontal drain of between 1,968 and 2,952 feet.
Operations are expected to be completed in about three months.
