Abraaj Group announced on Wednesday 4, 2016, it successfully exited its investment in leading Tunisian pharmaceutical laboratory Unité de fabrication de médicaments (Unimed), by listing on the Tunis stock market. The group invested in the firm via one of its funds in 2011.
On its first day in the Tunis stock, Unimed’s share was quite discrete. No volume or value was traded hours after the market opened. Yet, the bid opening on the firm’s shares launched on April 22, 2016, revealed that open public offering (OPO), which involved 848,450 shares, was subscribed 32.6 times by around 6363 subscribers, down to 5390 subscribers after distribution.
Unimed thus represents the first listing in 2016 on the Tunis stock market, and the first in the pharmaceutical industry since 2007.
Unimed’s shares are valued at DT11.8 per share, bringing its market capitalization to 300 million dinar ($150 million).
