About IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit)
The IOSA certification program is an important evaluation system recognized and accepted internationally, aiming at the verification of operational management and control systems of an airline company. IOSA uses the international audit principles - quality achieved in rigorous, standardized, and consistent ways.
The IOSA program is developed to improve the operational capacity of airline companies in areas such as the organization and management of the company, flight operations, operational control, aircraft maintenance, cabin operations, floor operations, cargo operations and operational security.
An operator enters the register IOSA when the documentation checking and the implementation of each of the more than 1,000 IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices are performed.
IOSA standards and recommended practices are based on ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standards and recommended practices, on national and community regulations and generally accepted practices in the commercial airline industry.
All IATA members are IOSA certified and must remain IOSA certified to keep membership in IATA. IOSA certification is renewable every two (2) years.
