Dutch company Goodwell Investments just launched a new fund - Goodwell Impact Privak- targeting fast-growing African SMEs.
The vehicle, which pools financial resources of wealthy Belgian families and individuals, will invest in about 30 companies across the continent. Half of its capital will go into businesses specialized in the provision of financial services, while the other half will be invested in agribusinesses as well as transport and mobility companies.
Goodwell says its goal is to help “the millions of people in Africa who still lack basic services such as financial services.” Through Goodwell Impact Privak, the Dutch firm intends to generate a significant financial return for investors.
Goodwell has participated in the launch of several investment funds focused on the African continent. These include Goodwell IV and uMunthu.
