Exeo Capital, a pan-African alternative investment firm, and South African Stellenbosch Graduate Institute (SGI), which provides online educational content and learning programs for students and teachers, have jointly acquired the private higher education institution -Pearson Institute of Higher Education (Pihe).
The sale amount was not disclosed. The seller is Pearson, a company specializing in the provision of learning content to institutions and governments. The company acquired the Pearson Institute of Higher Education (formerly CTI Education Group) in 2010 through its company Longman Group Limited.
The sale will close in the first half of 2021 subject to obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals. Pearson said the sale of this asset is in line with its new strategic direction, which has been in place for several years, to focus on strategic opportunities.
