Investments in Cote d’Ivoire in the first half of 2016 reached FCFA219 billion ($370 million), up 25% compared to the same period the previous year, statistics disclosed on July 12 by the National Centre for Investments Promotion (CEPICI in French).
Out of the investments made, 28% were made in the construction sector, 25% in food and agriculture, 16% in transport and logistics, 12% in collection and processing of plastics and 5% in hospitality, the same source revealed.
CEPICI added that 30% total investments had been made by Ivoirians, indicating that 6,664 companies had been established between January 1 and June 30, 2016.
For the year, the center projects a total of FCFA800 billion in investments ($1.4 billion).
