The presidential and legislative elections in Burkina Faso, initially scheduled for 11 October but postponed as a result of a failed coup d'état, will be held on 29 November, two candidates in this election announced on 13 October at the conclusion of consultation between all the actors of the transition. "29 November has been chosen by all the actors involved in the political arena for the organisation of combined elections (legislative and presidential, editor's note)", announced Ablassé Ouédraogo presidential candidate and President of the Faso Autrement party.
Roch Marc Christian Kaboré (photo), one of election favourites, confirmed this date, which has yet to be confirmed by the Cabinet.
Presidential and legislative elections should put an end to the transition which followed the fall of Blaise Compaoré's regime in October 2014, in the aftermath of a popular uprising.
