(Ecofin Agency) - Air Seychelles announced it would acquire a second Airbus A330 as it aims to serve new destinations in Africa and Europe.

The airlines in which Emirati group Etihad Airways holds a 40% stake, plans to connect Seychelles to Germany starting from March 30, 2017, by opening a flight line to Düsseldorf at a rate of two flights per week.

Air Seychelles also wants to increase flights frequency by a flight per week on its Mahe-Paris line from three flights presently, starting from March 28, 2017.

Starting March 30, 2017, the carrier will open a new Mahé-Durban line at a rate of two flights per week.

“Air Seychelles, having recorded a significant growth since the beginning of 2016 is now ready to start a new chapter of its expansion by improving air access to our archipelago and attracting more businessmen and holidaymakers,” said the carrier’s Managing Director, Roy Kineear.
