Tuesday, 15 November 2016 14:41

In Libreville, Gabon, the Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises Biendi Maganga Moussavou has revealed on the sidelines of the opening of the first space dedicated to SMEs in the country, held yesterday, that his office was finalizing the structuring of a FCFA10 billion guarantee fund in partnership with Africa Guaranteed Fund (AGF) and Bpifrance.

“During their latest visit to Libreville (on November 9, 2016) Bpifrance’s managers committed to structure this fund in December, next month that is,” said the official. He added that technical assistance convention would be signed by the Gabonese State, Bpifrance and AGF on Nov. 17, 2016 in the framework of the fund’s establishment at SMEs and Champions Forum which will be taking place in Cote d’Ivoire this year.

Moreover, the Gabonese Minister said that his ministry was about to seal a deal with private equity firm Emerging capital Partners (ECP) to boost the country’s existing SMEs skills, in terms of management, organization and long-term resources mobilization. “Here, we aim to support their restructuring to make them more competitive in order to promote the emergence of a new class of national champions,” he said.
