South Africa casino operator Sun International plans to expand its activities to Brazil and Peru, Reuters reported on Nov. 14, citing one of the group’s officials. “Plans are well advanced to expand in the region. We have plans for expansion in Peru and further down the line, Brazil seems to be opening up to licensed casinos,” Chief Executive of Sun International Graeme Stephens told Reuters.
The announcement comes around five months after Sun International merged with Chilean Dreams SA. Sun International, detaining 55% of the merger’s product, will also apply for new licenses in Chili.
The South African group over the past years has sold its assets in various African countries and said it would exit Nigeria to focus on South Africa.
