Honeywell to take care of Air Algérie’s aircraft maintenance

In Algeria, public airlines Air Algérie has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with world-class manufacturer and one of the leaders of aircraft maintenance, Honeywell. The agreement aims to boost the airline’s capabilities in terms of aircraft maintenance, Air Algérie said in statement dated September 19.

The partnership will allow the firm to boost its capabilities in terms of equipments repair and maintenance and of Honeywell-designed plane systems as well, knowingly the Auxiliary Power Units, electronic equipment and electronic, pneumatic, and mechanic systems. It will also help develop an industry in the aircraft maintenance sector, the statement adds.

The MoU also includes a training program for technical staffers (engineers, executives, technicians), to enhance the development and modernization of the means and tools of production.

“Know-how will be transferred through the process, the carrier said. This agreement comes to concretize a long series of negotiations with the manufacturer. It translates the ambitions of Air Algérie and Honeywell,” it added.

Meanwhile, CEO of Air Algérie, Abdou Bouderbalan has recently revealed that his firm would buy 40 planes between 2018 and 2025 to reinforce long-distance flights. He also said that Air Algérie would launch new lines in Africa, mentioning Libreville (Gabon) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) among destinations concerned, in order for the Algiers international airport to become a “continental hub”.
