Attijari Bank, subsidiary of the Moroccan banking group Attijariwafa Bank, has passed 5 billion Tunisian dinars record for customer deposits, according to recently released results for first half of 2016. The deposits which were 5.22 billion dinar on June 30, up 10.21% compared to 2015 (4.7 billion). In comparison to 2005, this amount soared by 202%.
In detail, term deposits grew by 22.1% to 2.25 billion Tunisian dinars, while saving accounts increased 6.7% and hold a total of 1.7 billion dinar.
Over the period considered, outstanding loans surged 14.55% from the end of June 2015, to 4.2 billion dinar. As a result, Net Banking Product (NBP) rose by 9.90% from June 2015 to 152.87 million dinar, paired with a 13.3% increase in bank operating incomes, despite operating costs hiking 20%.
Shares of Attijari which is listed on the Tunis stock market rose by 2.7% at the closure of the July 19 session at 28.2 dinar.
Overall, this share value represents a plus-value of 24.6% for an average growth of 28%, from its lowest in 12 months on November 12, 2015 (22.6 dinar).
