Last year, the turnover of insurance companies grew by 6.2% reaching TND2.3 billion (about $841,438).
According to Tera Finances, which reported the information in a recent study, the increase was driven by the growth of insurance premiums in multi-line insurance companies (+98.2 million dinars) and single-line companies (+40.7 million dinars).
Non-life insurance premiums increased by TND85.5 million (+4.9%) and life insurance premiums by TND53.4 million (+10.5%). Carte Assurances achieved the highest growth in the non-life branch and Gat Vie in the life branch.
Comparing the revenues of 21 insurance companies (the country has 22 in total), during the fiscal year 2019, Tera Finances found that the insurer Star is the market leader with a turnover of TND374.9 million. Right behind are Comar and Gat Assurances, respectively.
