US Government’s development finance institution, Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), has announced on Sept 22 it will open an office in Nairobi, Kenya, to cover East Africa.
“I am thrilled to announce that we are opening a third office in Africa to increase OPIC’s regional presence,” said Elizabeth L. Littlefield, OPIC President
“This office will cultivate a strong U.S. business presence in a fast-growing investment environment. OPIC's Kenya regional office is the start of an important chapter for this Agency and for lasting development throughout East Africa,” said Elizabeth L. Littlefield, OPIC President
Present in Africa since 1972, the OPIC has invested more than $11.7 billion in 500 projects across the various sub-regions of the continent. The institution’s new office will add to already existing ones in Abidjan and Johannesburg.
