US Government’s development finance institution, Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), has announced on Sept 22 it will open an office in Nairobi, Kenya, to cover East Africa.

Present in Africa since 1972, the OPIC has invested more than $11.7 billion in 500 projects across the various sub-regions of the continent. The institution’s new office will add to already existing ones in Abidjan and Johannesburg.
