Asamoah Gyan (picture), the captain of the Ghanaian senior football team, has secured a license to launch an airlines named Baby Jet, which happens to be his rapper’s pseudo.
Speaking at the aviation fair in Accra yesterday, President Nana Akufo-Addo said that Gyan “is working feverishly to establish an airline obviously called, Baby Jet Airline”.
“I want to call on other Ghanaians both home and abroad to invest in the rapidly growing aviation sector,” the Head of State added.
Quoted by Bloomberg, the leader revealed that arrivals at the Accra International Airport stood at 373,429 last September, thus about 25% more than the previous year, in the same month. Besides, President Akufo-Addo announced that a new airport terminal would be built by next April.
Asamoah Gyan, 31, is the top scorer of Ghana’s national team with 51 goals. The charismatic Black Stars “number 3”, has already taken part to three world cups and currently plays for Kayserispor, a Turkish club, after passing by Udinese in Italia, and UK’s Sunderland Black Cats.
