Saturday, 03 December 2016 03:02 Last modified on: 03 December 2016 03:02

(Ecofin Agency) - Tunisian authorities announced in as statement that private buildings constructed on State lands in the Cap Negro region have been demolished, on order of Beja’s Governor. The buildings’ owners were warned by the State secretary for Public domains and Land affairs, Mabrouk Kourchid, last October, the 20th, as he visited the region.

“Illegal constructions across Cap Negro, which is part of the Nefza delegation (Governorate of Beja), have been demolished Tuesday. The operation was carried out by administrative and security services without any incident. It falls in line with the strategy of State services to preserve the properties of the national community,” the statement indicates.

Tunisia keeps increasing its efforts to secure its lands and optimize their exploitation. In this framework, the nation’s parliament adopted mid-September 2016 a new investment code that allows foreign investors to own non-agricultural lands.
