(Ecofin Agency) - Guinea’s minister for land development and urbanism, Louceny Camara, interviewed by Africaguinée, reaffirmed its will to hunt all the illegal residents of state lands. His determination translated into the ongoing State land recovery operation.
Though he said no one would receive a treatment of favor, the official said the evicted residents will be compensated upon presenting a documented proof of occupation. This is far from enough to calm the concerned parties. Truly, many questions are emerging from the populations of Masaya, in the Dubréka prefecture, where a 312 ha industrial area is a target of the eviction operation.
“We said all those who have legal proof, so anyone that considers himself a rightful owner of land situated in the 312 ha site we targeted in the Masaya industrial zone should send his evidence to us. We will obviously insure the respect of the right of all those holding a deed, an occupation decree or an ownership certificate,” Mr. Camara said in response to the concerns.
