(Ecofin Agency) - The international law firm Centurion Law Group, will be opening an office in Douala, Cameroon’s economic capital, according to an official release dated September 8, 2015. The pan-African law firm’s legal and business advisors are to provide services in areas such as arbitration, commercial litigation, corporate and finance law, tax and contract negotiation.

According to Centurion Law Group’s promoters, the group plans on carrying out a dynamic growth plan over the next years, mainly in the “resurgent oil and gas industry”, where the firm has a significant experience.

Indeed, after years of declining systemic production, in 2014 Cameroon’s oil and gas output increased. Also, benefiting from a new gas law and various permits delivered in 2014, the market now attracts more foreign investors to which the Centurion Law Group plans to offer its expertise.

Centurion Law Group’s office in Douala will be staffed with eight Cameroonian lawyers with academic and professional credentials from USA, UK, France, Nigeria and Cameroon. The firm has been awarded contracts in various oil and gas markets including Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Chad, Ghana, Gabon, Nigeria and Angola.
