LSE-listed miner, Petra Diamonds sold the 121.26ct white diamond that it recently discovered at its Cullinan mine in South Africa, for $6 million. The stone, with exceptional clarity, was sold in Johannesburg during the company’s sales session held in June. It was bought by a joint-venture comprised of Nemesis International and Golden Yellow Diamonds.
Last month, the firm sold its Cullinan Dream diamond, one of four blue diamonds cut from a larger piece of 122.52ct, also found at Cullinan. The 24.18ct stone was sold to Christie’s for $25.37 million.
The Cullinan mine is popular for the major discoveries it recorded. In 1905, the world’s biggest diamond, 3,106ct, was found there.
