Madagascar: Molo graphite quality good for electric cars lithium batteries

Saturday, 05 September 2015 15:33

Energizer Resources Inc., listed on TSX and OTCQX, received confirmation, in August, to move forward on the Molo project, in South Madagascar, on a deposit with the potential to become a natural, sustainable and alternative source of spherical graphite concentrate for the supply of anode material for batteries for the electric cars market.

The precision on the quality of Molo graphite was brought, it clarified, by a Japanese manufacturer leader in the lithium batteries segment and a major European company in the supply of spherical graphite for electric cars.

These are third parties bound by confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements and linked to the Canadian mining company which is taking steps to start low-cost production in 2017 on the Molo project.

According to Energizer, both companies have carried out tests which led to the transformation of the Molo graphite into high-grade spherical graphite to be used for lithium batteries applications.

Energizer Resources Inc. holds 100% of the Molo project covering about 940 km2 and containing 141.28 million tons of total resources, with 6.13% carbon, made up of 43.5% high-grade graphite with large and extra-large flakes.
