Asante Gold Corporation, the Canadian gold company with assets in Ghana, announced on December 7 it has discovered a significant gold mineralized system on its Betanase project in Ghana.
This discovery follows the delivery of results of analysis of 256 samples taken during the group’s phase 1-562 m drill program to test 750 m-long NNE-trending gold formation.
Four drill holes were completed on three distinct areas separated by 250 m. These assayed mineralized systems containing pyritic quartz grading up to 3.14 g/t gold over 4 m, the Toronto/Frankfurt-listed Junior mining company reports. .
In November, Asante Gold mentioned the presence of large altered intersections, variable in nature, of quartz and orange-pink quartzite veins at Betanasee.
The option is adjacent in the south to the Obouasi mining leases owned in by AngloGold Ashanti and Randgold Resources in joint-venture.
In view of the results obtained, the Canadian firm plans to move unto phase 2 of follow-up drilling over large areas which showed a strong induced polarization in the project located in the Kubi-Obuasi region, in the central part of Ghana.
