Gadde Bissik Phosphates Operations Sarl, a mining company formed to operate the Gadde Bissik phosphate deposit, has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Terminaux Vraquiers du Sénégal-Necotrans (TVS Necotrans) for the export of its production through the Dakar Port.
The signing of this contract, with this major actor of warehousing, was disclosed on 22 July by Minemakers Ltd, an Australian company which acquired 100% of the Baobab project where the Gadde Bissik deposit is located.
Through this agreement, the supply of phosphate cargoes will start in March 2016 and will intensify to reach 500,000 metric tonnes of phosphate per year, at the beginning of the second half of 2016, we learn from Minemakers which is getting ready to take full control of Gadde Bissik Phosphates Operations Sarl.
The operation will be done on a licence area of 5km2 in the Gadde Bissik phosphate rich prospect covering 90 km2.
The vast Baobab project, at the operational stage, covers a very promising phosphate area of about 1553 km2 in a region located less than 200 km from the capital Dakar.
