ASX-listed miner Walkabout Resources declared on Sept 9, 2016, that annual graphite production rate at its Lindi project, in Tanzania, should be below 40,000 tons. This was revealed by the firm’s MD, Allan Mulligan, who refused to announce the results of the exploratory study conducted by the firm, at Lindi.
“Our production level will be modest, probably the most modest among all the aspirant producers on the ASX. Unfortunately we can’t announce the production rate or any of the metrics [of the scoping study] because of the ASX rules, but as soon as the resource has been upgraded, we will be coming to the market with those metrics and shortly thereafter with a definitive feasibility study,” said Mulligan.
Lindi is contiguous with the Nachu graphite project. Le projet Lindi est adjacent au projet de graphite de classe mondiale Nachu. Walkabout which declared a maiden resource of 15.3 million tons in January 2016, said construction works for the project should start in 2017.
