The year 2016 looks bright for nickel-producing companies. At least it does according to the forecasts of a certain number of Finance experts, Bloomberg and Crédit Suisse.
Following the drastic fall in prices of nickel which resulted in a depreciation that cost many firms billions of dollars, this forecast seems is a glimmer of hope shinning on the tumbling industry.
If it proves true, this projection will have a butterfly effect. Clearly put, China not being a nickel producer and having sold out all its stocks is expected to massively import the commodity. Consumption should be of 3 to 4%.
A breath of fresh air for nickel producers which should sell the ton for $10,700 this year compared to $8,000 in November 2015.
Despite all these speculations, it is only in a few months that the forecast will be confirmed or not.
