Frigoglass, the Greek manufacturer of commercial refrigeration solutions, plans to increase its production of beverage refrigerators in Egypt to 100,000 units per year, according to CEO Serge Joris, who spoke to Bloomberg on November 3.
If achieved, this goal would give the company around 30% of Egypt’s beverage refrigeration market. Frigoglass launched its production line in Cairo in June 2025 under a partnership with Egyptian appliance maker Fresh SAE. Since the start of the year, the company has supplied nearly 10,000 units to the local market.
The move reflects Frigoglass’s strategy to capitalize on the rapid growth of Egypt’s beverage market. “Egypt is a new market for Frigoglass and represents a strategic step in our expansion in the Middle East and North Africa,” Joris said.
Frigoglass supplies cooling equipment to major multinationals such as Coca-Cola HBC and Heineken NV to support their distribution networks in Egypt. According to Statista, the Egyptian soft drink market is projected to reach $12.7 billion by the end of 2025, with an average annual growth rate of 17.44% through 2030, driven mainly by home consumption.
The company also sees potential in Egypt’s broader cold chain sector. Market research firm BCC Research estimates that the Middle East and North Africa’s cold chain market will grow at an average annual rate of 8.8% to reach $41.1 billion between 2025 and 2030.
