Algeria launches digital platform to track raw material imports
System centralizes requests, improves transparency and real-time monitoring
Access limited to production firms under 2026 provisional import programs
Algerian authorities announced on Tuesday the launch of a digital platform to track raw material imports.
The initiative, overseen by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Rezig, applies to provisional import programs for the first half of 2026.
Designed to improve management and transparency, the platform centralizes the handling of import requests, enables real-time tracking of operations, and enhances data reliability.
Access to the platform is restricted to companies registered under trade register activity codes 01 and 07, which cover firms engaged in production. The measure aims to better align raw material imports with the actual needs of the national production system.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, digitizing the process is expected to shorten processing times, improve the traceability of trade flows, and strengthen governance in a sector considered strategic to the economy.
The initiative forms part of the government’s broader policy to build a more efficient digital public administration in support of economic operators and industrial development.
The ministry also plans to launch two additional platforms, one dedicated to monitoring service imports and another focused on the resale of imported goods without processing.
