Nice Deer, an Egyptian health insurance technology firm, announced on December 23 that it has signed Telecom Egypt as a corporate client. Under the agreement, the company will manage healthcare services for more than 28,000 of the telecom operator’s employees through its digital insurance platform.
Through its technology, Nice Deer will support Telecom Egypt in automating insurance workflows, improving claims accuracy, enhancing transparency, and driving operational efficiencies. “This collaboration reflects the strength of our platform and the value it brings to managing complex insurance programs in large organizations,” said Eng. Mostafa Medhat, CEO of Nice Deer, expressing confidence in the platform’s ability to streamline healthcare administration at scale.
This development comes at a time of rapid expansion in Africa’s digital health sector. According to Grand View Research, the continent’s digital health market reached $3.8 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 23.4% through 2030. Salient Advisory’s 2023 Roundup: Investments in African Healthtech reported $167 million in funding across the sector, with Egypt, Nigeria, and Kenya leading the investment landscape. Egypt, in particular, saw a 137% year-over-year increase in healthtech funding. Meanwhile, Data Bridge Market Research forecasts Egypt’s health insurance market to reach $13.17 billion by 2032, growing at a rate of 3.85% annually from 2025.
To capitalize on this momentum, Nice Deer is well-positioned to scale its platform by aligning with the broader trends shaping Africa’s digital health landscape. The company can leverage Egypt’s health insurance market and the continent’s accelerating digital health growth to attract additional enterprise clients and investors.
