Roland Achille Sow, president of the special consular delegation of the Burkina Faso Chamber of Commerce, met on Jan. 23 with the minister for Digital Transition, Posts, and Electronic Communications, Aminata Zerbo/Sabane. The meeting aimed, among other objectives, to formally present the Faso Code X project, described by the ministry as an advanced training center dedicated to digital professions.
Sow said Faso Code X is set to open in February 2026 in Bobo-Dioulasso and aims to train Burkinabe engineers in future-oriented digital careers. He said professional training is the foundation of development and that presenting the initiative to the minister was necessary to benefit from guidance and strategic direction to ensure the project’s success.
The center will offer both in-person and online training programs, with curricula focused on technology-driven fields. Planned areas of study include artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital infrastructure automation, and cybersecurity. The objective is to strengthen local skills in digital professions, which are seen as critical to supporting the country’s economic transformation.
To ensure the quality of instruction, Faso Code X is relying on international partnerships. Experts from India and the United States are expected to support the project on both technical and academic fronts. International consultants present at the meeting reaffirmed their willingness to contribute to the rollout of the center.
At this stage, no information has been disclosed on potential state financial support or on the number of beneficiaries expected in the first training cohorts.
