(PORTEO BTP GABON) - In Gabon, on Friday 6 February, the people of the Ogooué-Ivindo province welcomed the official launch of a major infrastructure project: the development and asphalting of the Alembe-Lope-Carrefour Leroy Mykouyi road. At the helm, Porteo BTP Gabon, a subsidiary of Hassan Dakhlallah's Porteo Group.
306 kilometers. That is the length of the road Porteo BTP Gabon has been entrusted with constructing. This major infrastructure project was officially launched during a ceremony attended by prominent representatives of the Gabonese government, including Hermann Immongault, Vice-President of the Government, and Edgard Moukoumbi, Minister of Public Works and Construction. Also in attendance were Yaya Konate, Managing Director of Porteo BTP Gabon, and Papa Amadou Sarr, Managing Director of the Porteo Group. The local population, the main beneficiaries of this project, turned out in large numbers to witness the start of the works.

They consider this to be an important event for their community. This is an essential corridor for territorial continuity and the smooth flow of trade between the centre-south and north-east of the country.
A tool for opening up the region
According to a press release from Porteo BTP Gabon, “the modernization of the Alembé-Lopé-Carrefour Leroy Mykouyi axis will significantly reduce travel times, make travel safer and support agricultural, forestry and commercial activities in the region”.
It is therefore clear that this infrastructure is a strategic tool for opening the region and improving mobility. A tool that supports economic and social development.
Even before it is completed and made available to the population, this project, on which work has just begun, will ultimately mobilise, according to sources close to Porteo BTP Gabon, around 1,400 men and women and several hundred machines and pieces of equipment. It is a source of job creation and healthy employment for young people. As a subsidiary of the Porteo Group, Porteo BTP Gabon cannot ignore the group's principles. Everything is done in accordance with quality, safety and environmental protection standards.
Preserving the Lopé National Park
In other words, work on this site will be carried out in full compliance with Porteo BTP Gabon's QHSE (Quality, Health, Security and Environment) policy. Ensuring the safety of the teams deployed and preserving the ecosystems that the road crosses. So there is no need to worry about the Lopé National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As Hassan Dakhlallah emphasises, Porteo Group is a pan-African group whose ambition is to “contribute to the emergence of an industrial, autonomous and connected Africa that creates sustainable value for states and populations”. In line with this, Porteo BTP Gabon, through this project, reaffirms its role as a key player in the construction of structural road infrastructure, contributing directly to opening up territories, local economic development and improving the living environment of populations.
