Ethiopian Airlines will also deploy two addiztional modules: Pilot in the Loop, which allows crews to assess their own performance, and Green, aimed at reducing the airline’s carbon footprint by monitoring aircraft energy efficiency. Safran said Ethiopian Airlines teams will be trained to use the platform to ensure smooth and lasting integration, in line with Ethiopia’s Vision 2030 strategy that prioritizes digital transformation and sustainability as key pillars of national development.
African airlines are increasingly adopting advanced data analytics technologies as the region’s aviation sector expands. Rising traffic, higher operating costs and stricter global environmental standards are pushing carriers to use data intelligence tools to optimize performance.
According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Africa’s aviation market is expected to grow by 4.1 percent over the next 20 years, a trend that will require stronger operational management, predictive maintenance and tighter control over emissions.
