Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced on December 4 that it will launch a new direct route between Casablanca and Los Angeles, with service scheduled to begin on June 7, 2026. Operated three times a week with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the long-haul flight of about 12 hours aims to meet rising demand for intercontinental travel.
The airline said the route will serve Moroccan and African diaspora communities, American tourists, business travelers, and supporters heading to the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. RAM CEO Hamid Addou said the new link is more than just a destination and represents a milestone for the airline and for Africa’s global air connectivity.
With this addition, RAM strengthens its North American footprint, where it already flies to New York, Washington, Miami, Montréal, and Toronto. The expansion is part of the airline’s growth plan focused on fleet increases, new destinations, and denser international and domestic networks. The carrier aims to reach 31.6 million passengers a year, up from 7.2 million.
This strategy aligns with the performance contract signed with the Moroccan government, which positions RAM as a central tool of the national air transport and tourism agenda. Morocco plans to more than double air traffic by 2035 to 90 million passengers, up from 32 million in 2024, and to raise tourist arrivals to 26 million in 2030, compared with 17.4 million in 2024.
