Wingu Africa, a provider of data centers in East Africa, has entered an agreement with Africa Data Centres (ADC), operator of a network of interconnected facilities. The collaboration, announced November 3, brings two developers of African digital infrastructure to create a platform linking the East African markets of Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Tanzania with ADC's extensive footprint across South, West, and Central Africa.
"This partnership marks an important milestone for Wingu Africa and East Africa's digital ecosystem," said Demos Kyriacou, Deputy CEO, COO and Co-Founder of Wingu Africa. "By connecting our infrastructure with Africa Data Centres' extensive network, we enable enterprises to operate across borders with the reliability and resilience they expect. It's about making Africa's digital economy easier to access, more predictable, and globally competitive."
The agreement creates reciprocal opportunities for both organizations. By connecting their respective networks, the two companies are delivering a unified digital platform across some of Africa's most important markets, enabling enterprises and service providers to scale operations.
The partnership positions both companies within Africa's rapidly expanding data center market. According to Research And Markets, the Africa Data Center Market was valued at $3.49 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $6.81 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 11.79%. In 2024, approximately 50 data centers were developed across the continent. Demand for cloud computing services in Africa is growing at 25%-30% per year, according to data from Xalam Analytics.
The partnership provides ADC customers access to three strategically important East African markets, each with distinct advantages. It addresses growing demand for advanced data center infrastructure across Africa.
