MTN Zambia has partnered with MyScape Hub to launch “Tech for Growth: Advancing Digital Inclusion for Zambia,” a five-month program aimed at training more than 1,500 participants. According to a post on MTN Zambia’s Facebook page on November 7, the initiative uses the MTN Skills Academy to develop digital skills, provide mentorship, and foster entrepreneurship among young people and women.
Organizers explained that the program will be rolled out in multiple phases. Participants will take part in hands-on workshops and online modules through the MTN Skills Academy, combining physical sessions in community hubs with e-learning to reach both urban and rural areas. MyScape Hub will handle local logistics and support participants interested in launching entrepreneurial ventures.
The initiative establishes a full pathway into the digital economy—from training and certification to guidance toward employment or microenterprise creation. Available information indicates that the program enables participants to create value, access meaningful jobs, and advance within Zambia’s digital economy, while reinforcing the MTN Zambia Foundation’s commitment to accessible digital empowerment.
This program aligns with the national digital transformation strategy “Smart Zambia 2023–2026,” which aims to modernize public services and drive economic growth through digitalization. According to Digital 2024: Zambia by DataReportal, only 31.2% of the population—about 6.51 million out of 20.85 million people—used the Internet at the start of 2024. The digital divide remains particularly wide in rural areas and among women, as highlighted by the United Nations in its article “New Frontiers: Zambia embraces digital transformation.”
