Ghana’s Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson announced on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, that the government signed a seventh bilateral debt-restructuring agreement with the Czech Republic. He said, “On behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, I conveyed our deep appreciation for their continued cooperation. ”

The government continues to pursue bilateral deals as part of reforms under its International Monetary Fund program. The authorities aim to restore macroeconomic stability and improve long-term debt sustainability. Officials view each agreement as critical to reinforcing Ghana’s fiscal recovery strategy.
