The World Food Program (WFP) announced on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, that the South Korean government, through its cooperation agency KOICA, will provide $9.3 million to strengthen food security and improve nutrition in northern Côte d’Ivoire.
The funding, covering 2025 to 2029, will supply nutritious, locally produced meals to 50,000 pupils across 200 primary schools in the Bagoué, Bounkani, Poro, and Tchologo regions. The project also includes support for 100 smallholder farmer groups and initiatives to promote hygiene, health, and nutrition education in schools.
