  • KYA-Energy, Optima sign Côte d’Ivoire power partnership
  • Deal targets data centre energy solutions, joint projects
  • Move supports KYA-Energy’s regional expansion strategy

KYA-Energy Group, a Togolese energy solutions company, signed a partnership agreement in Lomé last week with Optima, an Ivorian firm, to deploy power solutions in Côte d’Ivoire, with a focus on the data centre sector, Optima’s core business.

The agreement provides for the two companies to explore the Ivorian market, roll out training programmes and develop joint projects. It forms part of KYA-Energy’s international expansion strategy.

We began expanding internationally some time ago. After Niger, Benin and Mali, we want to take the next step in Côte d’Ivoire,” said Yao Azoumah, chief executive of KYA-Energy Group.

KYA-Energy said Optima was chosen for its expertise in data centre development, an infrastructure segment that requires continuous and reliable power supply.

For Optima, the partnership offers access to technical support to accelerate its growth in Côte d’Ivoire, a country of more than 30 million people facing significant energy challenges.
