UPF Group, a Denmark-based logistics and freight transport company, has announced the opening of a new office in Cameroon. The office is expected to be based in Douala, the country’s economic capital and main port and logistics hub.
In a statement dated Dec. 12, 2025, the company said the move reflects its long-term strategy for Africa. UPF said it aims to strengthen its logistics networks on the continent, apply international operating standards locally, and operate closer to its customers. Cameroon was described as a key regional market, with the new office expected to improve service quality and expand the group’s regional reach.
The Cameroon office becomes UPF Group’s sixth location in Africa, adding to its presence in Mozambique, Tanzania, South Africa, Namibia, and Kenya. The expansion underscores the group’s focus on developing African logistics corridors while retaining a strong European base.
Outside Africa, UPF Group operates in Denmark, Finland, and Portugal. This footprint allows the company to serve trade flows along the Africa-Europe corridor, particularly for industrial and commercial cargo.
Across its markets, UPF Group provides integrated logistics services to local and international clients, including freight forwarding, multimodal transport, project cargo management, and supply chain optimisation. The Cameroon office strengthens the group’s ability to handle complex and cross-border operations.
UPF Group’s entry is expected to intensify competition in Cameroon’s logistics and freight market, which already includes major players such as Africa Global Logistics (AGL). AGL was formed following the acquisition of Bolloré’s African transport and logistics assets by the Italian-Swiss shipping group MSC, consolidating its presence across multiple African ports and corridors.
In this context, UPF Group’s arrival adds a new competitor to a market that is strategic for Cameroon’s foreign trade, with potential effects on service quality, delivery times, reliability, and costs for both domestic and international shippers.
