Egypt and Singapore have strengthened cooperation in technical and vocational education through an agreement signed at the Egypt-Singapore Economic Forum.
According to a statement from the Egyptian presidency on Sunday, September 21, 2025, the partnership aims to modernize technical and vocational education in Egypt in line with international standards. It also seeks to increase the competitiveness of graduates from applied technology schools in both local and global job markets.
The protocol covers several areas, including infrastructure development, training of teachers and administrators, academic advancement, and quality assurance. The initiative is part of Egypt’s Vision 2030 sustainable development plan, which focuses on education reform and adapting technical training to labor market needs.
As part of broader reforms, Egypt has committed to hiring 30,000 teachers to address shortages, integrating artificial intelligence and digital tools into education, and adopting modern global systems.
During the Egypt-Singapore Economic Forum, other agreements were also signed in agriculture, health, maritime transport, social protection, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib said Singapore’s investments in Egypt stood at about $700 million in June 2024, spread across 129 companies.
